Two tiny kittens were found abandoned outside all by themselves in Phoenix, Arizona. They kept each other alive until rescue came their way.

A month ago, Melinda Blain, co-founder of Bottle Baby Fosters, was contacted about a pair of kittens needing rescue. Their cat mother was nowhere to be found. With wounds on their legs, Melinda took them in right away and started treating and feeding them.

"The tortie girl was only 85 grams, while her brother was 120 grams. She was the weight of an underweight newborn at five days old," Melinda told Love Meow.

It was a miracle that they had survived without a mom this long. They were completely inseparable and would cry for each other if they weren't together.

The kittens, Bonsai (tortie) and Buddha (ginger), had abrasions on their legs, which were treated with antibiotics to prevent infections. "They purred the minute I picked them up. They just seemed to know that they were so loved."

After their first meals, the kittens snuggled together in an adorable purr-pile. They took a long nap, trying to recuperate and make up for lost rest.

In just one day, Bonsai the tortie gained a whopping 15 grams. Despite having a more severe wound on her leg, she was always in good spirits with her brother by her side. "She is a great little fighter and has the loudest purr."

Bonsai was a trooper during her treatments and loved rolling over onto her back for belly rubs while purring up a storm.

"She quickly caught up in size and healed since she had such an awesome appetite and fighting spirits," Melinda told Love Meow.

At 10 days old, their eyes were completely open. Their full bellies showed their love for food.

"The brother and sister duo get extra cuddle time in the morning, and they always end up zonking out during snuggles," Melinda said.

They figured out the litter box together and began to explore around as a pair.

Two days ago, the sweet kitties had their first solid food, and they were instantly hooked.

"They're almost totally weaned and haven't lost their desire for constant snuggles."

The feline siblings are so loving and sweet and full of purrs.

"Bonsai is a little explorer and she loves climbing, and Buddha loves snuggling and playing with his sister," Melinda told Love Meow.

They are like two peas in a pod and never let each other out of eyeshot.

The rescue hopes to find them a forever home together when they are big enough for adoption.

"They always fall asleep on my lap after playtime, and I always find them cuddling together."

The brother and sister kept each other comforted through the ordeal. Now, they are happy, healthy, and loved!
