Sammy the cat is a hero to the family for saving their dog Izzy's life from an aggressive bigger dog. He puffed up himself when confronting the dog who had Izzy in its mouth.

Sammy distracted the big dog by fluffing up his fur. The big dog dropped Izzy to the ground, and chased after Sammy who quickly escaped unscathed.

Izzy is in good spirit and getting treated at Animal Emergency and Critical Care Clinic in Toledo, Ohio. Thanks to Sammy, Izzy is expected to make a full recovery.

"The big dog saw the cat, dropped Izzy, took off after the cat. The family was able to pick up Izzy to bring her in here. The cat got away safely up a tree and literally saved this dog's life. The family said what's ironic is that Izzy chases that cat all the time and the kitty must have felt a loyalty to Izzy and raced over there and squared off with the bigger dog," said Dr. Kittsen McCumber.
