Thousands of kittens and puppies made their way to California to be sold or adopted each year. However, many of them ended up dying or being put down.

That's why animal activitists in Palm Beach County, California are pushing the commissioners to ban pet stores from selling out-of-town kittens and puppies to new pet owners while local shelters and rescue groups are forced to put down thousands of cats and dogs every year.

Animal lover Lisa DeLaurentiis urged the commission to prohibit selling cats and dogs purchased from puppy mills across the county.
