A couple thought they would foster a kitten until the right home came along, but the little calico had a different idea.

Marie and Stef from Montreal, Canada came across a post about kittens being given away, and rushed to rescue them. When they arrived, they only found a tiny calico by herself. She was very shy, shaking like a leaf.
They got the kitten to safety and reached out to Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a local rescue group, for help. The little one was meowing the entire time on her way to the rescue.
"She was worried and unsure about all the changes around her and just wanted comfort and reassurance," Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal shared with Love Meow.

The kitten named Lola was very anxious when she was at the vet. Jess, a foster volunteer, gently put her in her arms to soothe her. The calico instantly calmed down and felt at ease in her embrace.
Jess thought the plan was to socialize the kitten with her partner Shawn, and prepare her for her future forever home — or so they thought.

A few days later, Lola came out of her shell and decided that she would no longer be afraid. Her demeanor changed, and she transformed into a sweet little love-bug.

She snuggled up to her foster parents and became their little shadow, following them around the house.
"She is never far from her humans and loves having their attention and hugs," Celine told Love Meow.

If Shawn is working in front of a computer, Lola comes running and insists on offering a helping paw. She is their perfect little assistant and the best lap warmer.
The calico is no longer that shy kitten they met on day one. She's blossomed into a confident little girl with an adorable personality.

Lola wants to know everything that her humans are doing. She is always hungry for attention and affection, and has her humans wrapped around her little toe beans.
Her beautiful markings make her even more to love.

Before they knew it, the little calico had crept her way into their hearts. Now, every morning, they wake up to her lovable face and sweetest coos.
Lola is the happiest kitty when she is cuddled and loved.

When it came time to find her a forever home, the couple knew that she had already found it.
Lola never left Jess and Shawn as they made her a permanent part of their family.
