A stray cat greeted everyone he met. Once indoors, he was determined to live like a king.

Georgie, an orange-and-white cat with chubby cheeks and soulful eyes, was rescued from the streets and brought to Animal Control with a fractured pelvis.
Life on the streets had left its mark—battle scars, injuries, and a weary body—but none of it dimmed Georgie's spirit. After every meal, he'd turn to the shelter staff, purring and gently nudging them for affection. Even with his injury, he attempted to leap from his kennel to explore.
The staff knew Georgie deserved a better future, so they reached out to local rescues for help.

That's when Little Wanderers NYC, an all-volunteer animal rescue, stepped in. Without hesitation, they agreed to take Georgie and arranged a foster home where he could rest and recover.
After three long weeks in the shelter, Georgie was finally on his way to a fresh start.

The moment he met the veterinary staff, Georgie worked his charm. He curled into their laps, leaned in for cheek scratches, and purred like an engine. He was a model patient, facing every exam and treatment with calm and grace.
"He's an absolute sweetheart—gentle, affectionate, and full of love," Little Wanderers NYC shared.

Thanks to crate rest, attentive care, and the comfort of his foster home, Georgie healed beautifully without needing surgery. "He is more than just a pretty face. He's a true fighter with the softest heart."
Now fully recovered, Georgie has embraced indoor life to the fullest.
He follows his people everywhereLittleWanderersNYC
He confidently patrols the house, supervises kitchen duties, and offers "help" in the home office, though he frequently falls asleep on the job. "He'll follow you around like a little shadow, curl up next to you in bed, and gently head-butt you to say, 'I love you.'"
He's been known to nap mid-meeting, often using the keyboard as a pillow.

"He's also playful and full of life. He loves chasing toys, leaping around with joy, and never says no to a treat. He's very food motivated, after all. Georgie is a living reminder that love, hope, and a little head-butt can go a long way."
There's nowhere he'd rather be than curled up beside his human, purring into a peaceful slumber—a luxury he never knew before.

"He's a champion cuddler who also knows how to have fun. He loves chasing his toys and gets especially excited at mealtime. Head scratches are his weakness, and he'll gently nudge you to remind you when it's time for some affection."
Georgie has rediscovered his inner kitten and wants to be involved in everything his human is doing.

"His journey hasn't been easy. He was rescued just in time. He's strong and resilient. We have given him everything he needs for success, and he will live a good life."
Not long ago, Georgie was surviving the streets one day at a time. Now, he's thriving and living like a king.
