A family came to a local rescue to give a kitten the wish he had been waiting for.

A tiny black kitten was brought to a shelter in Quebec City, Canada a few weeks ago. He was alone and in need of rescue.

At the vet, they discovered that the kitten has a severe heart condition. They didn't have the resources to care for him but volunteers refused to give up.

They reached out to Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a rescue group in Montreal, and asked for help.

"A volunteer drove two and a half hours to transport the kitten to us. He had a team of people rooting for him," Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal told Love Meow.

The kitten, whom they named Chouk, was very tiny, but what he lacked in size, he made up for with personality.

"He was purring throughout his first consultation at the vet."

The kitten was seen by a specialist to help determine the stage of his heart condition.

"He has a severe heart defect and a lower life expectancy — anywhere from a few months to a few years," Celine said.

"The kitten will be given medication every day for the rest of his life to help his heart."

Despite it all, Chouk is as sweet as can be. He's always in good spirits and just wants to be loved.

"He quickly adapted to life with his foster family. He is a little purr machine and constantly demands cuddles and attention. Chouk loves everyone, both humans and animals."

The rescue shared his story online, hoping to find a special family that would love him unconditionally and cater to his every need.

A family came across his post on Facebook and fell in love. They arranged a meet-and-greet right around Christmas - it was love at first sight.

Chouk cuddled right up to them and purred up a storm as if he knew he had found his forever humans.

Even though his life might be shorter due to his heart condition, it didn't deter the family.

They adopted him that day and renamed him Noel (Christmas in French) as he was their little Christmas miracle.

"At three months old, the kitten found the perfect home he'd been waiting for," Celine said.

"His future is in the best hands and we are so happy for him."
