A friendly cat walked up to people for help until she was taken in. Then, she brought four little ones into the world.

A black-and-white cat had been left behind to survive on her own. One day, she approached a kind stranger, who began caring for her. It soon became clear that she was pregnant and needed a safe place to raise her kittens.

That's when Heidi Shoemaker, founder of Foster Kitten Mama, stepped in. After a few days on the road, the cat, Nylah, arrived in foster care.

She was scared and unsure, but it wasn't long before she fell in love with her new life.

Nylah explored her new surroundings, sniffing every corner and taking in unfamiliar sights and smells. After surviving on the streets and walking the same paths each day in search of food, the sudden change left her both curious and nervous.

But once she realized she was safe, she let her guard down, and her true self began to shine.

"It took her a few days, but then she became incredibly sweet and showed she was craving love. She will sit in my lap and roll all over," Heidi shared.

Nylah leaned into Heidi's touch, soaking up the head scratches and affection. Curled in her foster mom's lap, she stretched her paws in the air and purred contentedly, even inviting belly rubs with complete trust.

Nylah embraced the comforts of indoor life and made herself at home, kneading invisible dough in the air, snuggling up anywhere soft, and proudly displaying her round belly. "I can't believe how much this sweet girl has opened up. Nylah is unbelievably affectionate."

A few days later, she went into labor. Surrounded by warmth and love, she gave birth to four perfect kittens.

Born indoors and far from the dangers of the streets, the kittens nestled close to their mom. Nylah stepped into motherhood with grace, nursing, cleaning, and tending to their every whim. "She did a fantastic job and is a wonderful mama."

Two of the kittens are tabbies, while the others have adorable "cow" markings.

Nylah showers her kittens with constant affection, wrapping herself around them and grooming their fur as they sleep. She makes sure their bellies are full and their cries are met with comfort.

"New life always amazes me. I'm beyond thankful that sweet Nylah landed in my home. I'm so excited for all five of their futures that once looked so bleak before being rescued."

Even while caring for her babies, Nylah never forgets to show love. Whenever Heidi walks in, she sneaks away for a moment, nuzzling her foster mom for some well-deserved affection. But the second a kitten makes a peep, she's back by their side in an instant.

"As much as she loves being close to me, she knows she needs to go back to her babies." Each day, Heidi weighs the kittens to ensure they're healthy and growing.

Soon, the kittens will open their eyes and discover the world around them. Through it all, Nylah remains grateful for the love and safety she's found. No more cold nights. No more uncertainty. Just a mama cat who loves as deeply as she's loved in return.

"She's the biggest love bug, and I'm so lucky to know her."
