Garfield was 18 years old when he was surrendered to the shelter.

"His family surrendered him to a local shelter because they were moving," Karyn Poplin of Kitty Adventure Rescue League told Love Meow.

The shelter wasn't able to keep Garfield for long, so Karyn and her husband Gerald rescued the old man and took him into their cat sanctuary where he would be loved and have all the things he wanted to live like a king.

"He sure would have loved to move with them, but he ended up here instead. That's ok, we love you Garfield!"

He likes to supervise his humans from his own spot and enjoys sleeping for hours at his comfortable home!

He is a friendly old man with quite a cattitude.
