A good Samaritan found a tiny blind kitten standing in the middle of the road crying for help. He scooped him up and immediately took him to the Coral Springs Animal Hospital in Florida.

Soon they found out just how special this little feline buddy is. Meet Lemon the kitten!

"When I first saw Lemon, I knew I was going to bring him home," Bryanna Rosario, a vet tech, told Love Meow.

"After Lemon's initial exam knowing he had grade 4 heart murmur, which is pretty significant for a kitten, I took him to the cardiologist to have an echocardiogram. His prognosis was poor... she believed he'd only live for another few months."

Lemon was born blind and with a weak heart. "His heart is like Swiss cheese and isn't pumping blood where it's supposed to go."

But the little kitty is happy, playful, purring and in no pain. Bryanna wants to give him a fighting chance for a happy life surrounded by love and all his favorite things, no matter how long it may be.

"His quality of life is not being affected by his heart right now. After understanding Lemon wouldn't live a long life, I decided to create a bucket list for him so that way he can live the rest of his few months happy," Bryanna told Love Meow.

The list started with just a few things, but it kept on growing as Lemon checked them off one by one.

Little Lemon is being cared for at the Coral Springs Animal Hospital. He is like family to everyone there.

Lemon got to visit the park the other day and sniffed all the wonderful and interesting scents he could find. He was so excited that he tried to catch leaves and play with branches. You would never know he's blind. This wonder boy can see through his other amazing senses.

A few weeks ago, they gave Lemon his first birthday party. He enjoyed his birthday cake and celebrated it with all his human friends.

They took him to the beach. It was by far his favorite adventure.

He had so much fun that he ran around playing with sand, and was fascinated by the sound of the waves and the cool breeze.

Lemon found a girlfriend, Rajah the cat.

"Lemon is a super sweet and spunky kitty who will shower you in kisses and steal all your food," Bryanna told Love Meow.

"My time with Lemon is going to be short but the sweetest."

Lemon is so happy that he falls asleep with a smile on his face. Their time together may not be long, but they are determined to make the time he does have as wonderful as it can be.

Update:

On December 29, little Lemon crossed the rainbow bridge. "Lemon had his last birthday and his last breath. He was surrounded by love and left peacefully."

"Saying good bye was the hardest thing I ever did.. My sweet blue angel.. I can't stop crying because I'm so incredibly sad that you're gone, but also because I'm happy that you can live the life you always wanted."
