A scrawny cat was spotted wandering through Central Park, boldly approaching strangers and asking for affection.
Without hesitation, she rubbed against their legs, hoping someone would stop to pet her or offer a meal. When rescuers at PuppyKittyNYCity were contacted, they sprang into action.
"Let's get this girl off the street," the rescue shared.

No one came forward to claim her, and it quickly became clear she had been abandoned. A volunteer rushed to the park with a carrier and food, determined to bring her to safety. It didn't take long for them to find her.
The moment they set down a can of food, she dove in, ravenous and grateful.

No one knew how long she'd been fending for herself. After days—maybe weeks—of seeking out kindness from strangers, her time on the streets was finally over. "This kitten is way too friendly to be out in Central Park."
She calmly let herself be placed into the carrier and curled up inside, as if she knew she was safe.
She was finally rescuedPuppyKittyNYCity
The young cat was lovingly named Meowdonna. For the first time in a long while, she slept soundly, wrapped in a soft blanket, dry, and warm. "Our Central Park kitty slept peacefully after the rescue, out of the rain. She is so perfect."
Whenever a volunteer came to visit, she got up to greet them, ready for love.

She was painfully thin—you could feel the bones along her spine. As soon as the food hit her bowl, she devoured it in one sitting. Even the noise of the kennel didn't seem to faze her. All she wanted was affection and a second helping.
"She needs to gain weight," said the rescue. "But otherwise, she's just amazing."

Soon after, a foster volunteer opened their home to Meowdonna, giving her the space and comfort she desperately needed. "She has some corneal scarring that likely will be permanent, but it shouldn't affect her life."
Once settled in, Meowdonna explored her new surroundings and quickly sought out her foster family for attention.

Now brimming with joy, Meowdonna follows her humans everywhere, never far from a cuddle. If the petting stops, she gently nudges them or gives a soft love-nip—her way of saying, "Don't stop now."
"She was too friendly to be living on the streets. She settled right into her foster home and is doing so well."

After a month of good food and loving care, Meowdonna has filled out beautifully. No longer the scrawny stray from the park, she's healthy, happy, and full of spark. She adores everything about her indoor life, especially the company of people.
"Now she is ready for her next chapter—a forever home."
