A street kitten bounced back and made it her mission to befriend every cat she met until she was back with her sister.

Earlier this year, a tiny kitten arrived at Best Friends Felines, an all-volunteer rescue, after being found alone on the streets.
She was severely underweight at just 350 grams, and no one came forward to claim her. "She was already eating independently, which suggested she was around four to five weeks old," the rescue shared.
The kitten, named Mitzee, was treated for weepy eyes and a runny nose, but even with nourishing food and medication, she struggled to thrive.

Mitzee had difficulty swallowing and eating, and her weight gain was slower than expected. A veterinary exam revealed a large nasal polyp that had grown down the back of her throat. Without intervention, she wouldn't have survived long on the streets.
Despite her fragile size, Mitzee bravely underwent surgery to remove the obstruction. Against all odds, she came through like a little warrior.

"In just three days post-surgery, she gained over 70 grams. She's playing, zooming around, and devouring every bite of food like a girl who knows she's got a second chance at life."
Once she regained her strength, Mitzee was off exploring, bouncing around the house and introducing herself to the other cats. Before long, she had everyone wrapped around her tiny paw.

When Mitzee met Albert, a blind cat born with eye defects, she seemed to know exactly what he needed. She guided him during playtime and stayed by his side when he needed a nap.
They nestled side by side, with Mitzee burrowing her face into his fur before drifting off to sleep.

Later, the rescue took in another kitten believed to be Mitzee's sister. Named Marlee, she too arrived with a kitty cold and was treated immediately. The two hit it off instantly, chasing each other up the cat tree, sharing toys, and curling up together for naps.
A few weeks later, however, Mitzee began losing weight again and stopped eating. Tests revealed another large polyp, almost identical to the first.

Mitzee underwent a second surgery and, once again, came out victorious. She was placed on medication to help prevent future polyps from forming.
Meanwhile, Marlee started showing similar symptoms. As her condition worsened, the team feared she might have the same issue, and their suspicions were soon confirmed. Marlee went through the same ordeal and conquered it, just like Mitzee.

Thanks to these life-saving surgeries, the two sisters finally had the chance to thrive.
"They are two of the most affectionate, people-loving, social little kittens. They don't let their struggles dull their spirit. They purr, cuddle, and reach out for affection. They are fighters, but they are also snuggly love bugs."

After months in foster care, Mitzee and Marlee are ready to find their happily ever after.
"Mitzee has bounced back stronger than ever. Though she's still small for her age, she's thriving, eating with enthusiasm, and making up for lost time with every playful pounce and cuddle. Marlee is a devoted snuggle bug who adores her humans and loves to flop onto cushions or stretch out for a belly rub."

They have come such a long way—two gentle souls with the hearts of fighters. Given a second chance, they are bursting with energy, zipping across the house, leaping after toys, and living their very best lives.
