Earlier this year, Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a rescue group from Montreal, Canada, took in four little kittens from a rough beginning.

One of them (named Topaze) was much smaller and more fragile than the others. She couldn't eat on her own and needed specialized care to help her survive.

"She barely weighed 500 grams and needed help to eat despite being five weeks old," Chatons Orphelins Montréal shared with Love Meow.

The tabby girl went home with her rescuer Milena, a foster volunteer of Chatons Orphelins Montréal. "She watched over her and weighed her every day to make sure that everything went well with the kitten."

Topaze was thankful and would purr up a storm when she was cuddled. She enjoyed being held like a little purrito and would fall asleep comfortably in their arms.

A week later, Chatons Orphelins Montréal was contacted about another tabby kitten needing rescue.

This tiny bundle of fur was found as a stray in poor shape. "She was two weeks old when she was brought in by her rescuers. She was very tiny and had a lot of stomach issues," Chatons Orphelins Montréal said.

The little tabby needed a foster home, so Milena stepped up to help.

She started bottle-feeding the feline baby every two hours around the clock. The kitten whom they named Toscane, began to perk up.

Toscane came to the rescue with many health issues, and had been living with discomfort for a while. After several vet visits and round-the-clock care, they were able to nurse her back to health.

Both Topaze and Toscane fully recovered in foster care and were ready to socialize. The rescue decided to pair them up since both of them needed a friend.

When the kittens met, it was love at first sight — Topaze took to her little lookalike right away, and they instantly bonded. "They are not sisters from the same litter, but they look each other and are very close."

"It is beautiful to see baby Toscane follow Topaze everywhere around the house, and try to copy everything she does," the rescue shared with Love Meow.

If one of them starts to purr, the other quickly follows suit. Together, they make the cutest purr-symphony.

"Topaze is very cuddly and outgoing. She coos when she looks for her humans and likes to talk to them. She will come running if she hears her name being called," the rescue said.

"Toscane does everything just like her big sister, and always follows her lead. She has been raised with a bottle and is very close to her humans."

Toscane is catching up in size with her sister. The two kitties are now ready for their next chapter in life — a forever loving home.

Being cuddled together is one of their favorite pastimes.
