Three kittens followed a resident cat everywhere until the day their wish came true together.

Earlier this year, a feline family of four arrived at a foster home after being rescued by Good Samaritans.
The protective mother cat kept her two-week-old kittens nestled safely beneath her. Grateful for a place to land, she purred and even "made biscuits," quickly revealing her affectionate nature.
When Ellen Richter, a volunteer with Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions, lay down beside them, the mother cat came right over for cuddles.

The mom rarely let her kittens out of sight, responding to their every peep. But once the trio began to waddle, their curiosity took over. They made clumsy attempts to escape their nest, keeping their mom constantly on alert. Meanwhile, Ellen monitored their development, ensuring they were healthy and thriving.
After a few days, the devoted mother finally allowed herself some well-deserved breaks.

As the kittens found their footing, their world quickly expanded. They chased each other, tumbling into playful wrestling matches while their mom watched over them every step of the way.
As the kittens became more independent, their mom was finally able to relax. "This will be her last litter. It's time for Mom to have a forever home where she'll be loved and cherished," Ellen shared.

When Mom met her new family, she embraced them as if she had always belonged. "She jumped on everyone's lap and demanded head rubs. She knew she was home."
Meanwhile, the kittens turned their attention to their foster mom and to each other. They quickly discovered the joy of lap time, climbing up Ellen's legs and perching on her shoulders like tiny parrots. Bluebird, the smallest of the trio, had a personality far bigger than his size.

The kittens were bundles of energy, pausing only briefly before launching into their next adventure. "Chicka DeeDee and Puffin (dark gray) are high-energy, constantly on the go, very confident, and extremely playful. Bluebird is a bit calmer. He prefers to sit on your lap or shoulders."
Then they met Matisse, a resident cat, and were instantly smitten.

From that moment on, they followed him everywhere, like ducklings trailing after their mom. Their wide eyes tracked his every move, and whenever Matisse slipped behind a piece of furniture, the kittens hurried after him without missing a beat.

When Ellen brought out Matisse's favorite toy, the tunnel, the kittens gathered around in awe. They watched him dart through it, captivated by both the movement and the sound. As they shadowed him, they discovered new toys, new games, and a whole world of fun.
Even in the middle of their adventures, Puffin never forgot his foster mom, running to her the moment their eyes met.

When the kittens were big enough for adoption, Ellen hoped for the perfect outcome. Her wish came true when a wonderful family reached out, hoping to adopt all three kittens so they could stay together forever.
Matisse has been a great "uncle," entertaining the kittens and teaching them the art of being a cat.

This Friday, the trio will join their forever home. With triple the mischief and triple the joy, they are sure to fill their new home with playful antics, loud purrs, and endless affection.
