A tiny black kitten wandered into the Alameda County Sheriff's Office and decided to stay. He took a nap in the sergeant's office and wriggled his way into everyone's heart.

A week ago, a little kitten showed up outside the Eden Township Station (in California). He was wandering around the building for a couple of days before he made up his mind to stay and would not take no for an answer.

"We think he was trying to walk on as a K-9 unit and refused to leave until he got into the building for an interview," Alameda County Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook.

"This little kitten was looking for a home so he decided to come to our patrol station and find a bed in the sergeant's printer."

The kitten claimed his new nap spot and felt so comfortable with the people in the office as if he had been there all his life.

When he was fully replenished from his nap, he hopped on a desk to offer a helping paw.

"He's got a big attitude but is super cute," Alameda County Sheriff's Office added.

The kitten came as a stray and was in need of a forever home. Deputy Scalise took the shoulder kitten to the vet and fell in love with the little bundle of joy.

She brought him home and made him a permanent part of her family.
