A woman was severely hurt by a running car when trying to save kittens left on the street. She does not have recollection of the whole incident except that she recounted seeing 2 ladies placing the kittens on a high traffic street, possibly trying to get rid of them.
The injured woman, named Rachel Honeycutt, could not let the abandoned kittens be left in the middle of the street, so she stepped out of her car in the roadway and sprung out to reach the kittens. An incoming car collided with Rachel who was then put in intensive care for 3 weeks.
Rachel suffered from shattered pelvis, brain injury, organ damage and a coma.
