It's hard to believe that this beautiful cat with gorgeous blue eyes ended up in the shelter and was facing an uncertain fate. He was only given a few days to live until a kind young woman came to give him something he desperately needed - a second chance at life.

His name is Spence. He arrived in the shelter without any claws and canine teeth. Due to shelter policies, he was only given a few days for a rescue to come scoop him up.

Karyn Poplin of Kitty Adventure Rescue League came to save the one-year-old Lynx point Siamese and gave the little guy something he had always wanted, love.

With a fresh chance at life, Spence has come out of his shell at the cat sanctuary. Now he is "the Guardian of the microwave and official judge of that food that you probably shouldn't be eating 'on your diet,'" Poplin told Love Meow.

"Beware, you get slapped when you try to open the door!"
