A woman came to the shelter for a cat and his bonded brother, making their dream come true.

Jack, 7, and OJ, 10, two bonded orange cats, were brought to Anne Arundel County Animal Care and Control (AACAC, in Millersville, Maryland) because their family could no longer keep them. When they arrived at the shelter, they were scared and confused. They huddled up together for comfort being in an environment that was so unfamiliar to them.

Shelter staff noticed right away just how close these two brothers were. They placed them in a small cat room where they could freely roam around and have more space to be together.

When one of the cats started to come out of his shell, the other quickly followed. The tabby boys were joined at the hip and kept each other close within eyeshot. Knowing that their best friend was near brought them a sense of comfort and calmness.

A volunteer of AACAC came to visit them in the cat room and was immediately greeted by the brothers. "OJ and Jack are incredibly sweet. Jack jumped in my lap, snuggling up against me. OJ was on the tower but wanted to be petted. He was leaning into my hand and making biscuits. What an awesome pair," the volunteer shared with Love Meow.

The orange brothers loved whenever a visitor walked into their room. They would immediately seek their attention and pets and wouldn't let anyone go without a quality cuddle session.

Every day, they hoped that someone would come through that door and take them home.

Friends of Anne Arundel County Animal Care and Control (FAACAC), the nonprofit created by the shelter's volunteers to help improve and save the lives of animals, provided extensive dental work that Jack and OJ desperately needed. Not only did it help the brothers feel much better, but also their quality of life was significantly improved.

The shelter was determined to find the duo a loving home together, knowing how much they meant to each other. 10 days ago, the tabby boys got the visit that they had been waiting for.

A woman and her family came to know the sweet brothers from the shelter's page and were smitten with them. They knew they had to take both home, and contacted the shelter for a meet-and-greet.

It was an immediate connection when they finally met. OJ hopped right in for a cuddle and Jack came up to his human, waiting for his turn to be doted on. The two affectionate brothers turned into instant cuddle-bugs as if to say they were ready to go home to their new family.

After weeks of waiting, Jack and OJ had their dream come true. They left the shelter that day and started a new chapter with their forever family, together.

"It was worth every moment to see them leave," FAACAC shared with Love Meow. "This bonded pair of orange heartbreakers will be moving to New York with their new owner."

It's been quite a ride getting the cats back to health and finding them a loving home that they so deserve.

"Keep having great lives together, Jack and OJ."
